What happens when you uninstall

If you’re uninstalling FoxSell Bundles Plus, you may be wondering what happens to your existing bundles and the Shopify data the app created.

Good to know: Uninstalling removes the app from your store and stops it from running, but it does not automatically delete every Shopify resource that was created while the app was installed.

Volume Bundles

When you uninstall the app, the Volume Bundle Widget app block/section will no longer render on your storefront (because the app is no longer installed).

However, the underlying Shopify data used for Volume Bundles is preserved (for example, the app’s saved configuration stored in Shopify metafields/metaobjects).

If you reinstall FoxSell Bundles Plus, your volume bundle widget can reappear and continue working with your previous settings.

You can view metaobjects in Shopify admin → Content → Metaobjects.

Fixed Bundles, Multi Variant Bundles, and Mix & Match Bundles

For bundle types that create a dedicated bundle listing in Shopify, FoxSell builds the bundle as a new Shopify product (a “container” product that links the bundled items together).

In plain terms: your bundle is a real Shopify product, which is why you can manage it using Shopify product settings like Status, Publishing, and pricing.

After you uninstall the app:

  • The bundle’s linked Shopify product is automatically archived.

  • Because it’s archived, it becomes invisible/unavailable on your storefront and can’t be purchased.

  • The product record still exists in Shopify for reference (it isn’t deleted).

When the app is installed, you can open the bundle’s Shopify product from inside FoxSell using View Bundle in Shopify Admin. In Shopify, bundles are published/hidden using familiar controls like:

  • PublishingManage (to include Online Store and other sales channels)

  • Theme template (for example, a dedicated bundle template)

  • Status (for example, Active when you want it live)

What’s preserved (and what’s not affected)

  • Individual products inside any bundle are not changed by uninstalling FoxSell. They remain normal Shopify products and continue selling independently.

  • Your storefront theme keeps any templates you created (for example, a dedicated product template you built for bundles). App sections like Mix and Match Add Ons will stop rendering while the app is uninstalled.

If you see FoxSell-related metaobject definitions after uninstalling, that’s expected in some cases. Since the app loses access immediately upon uninstall, it can’t automatically remove Shopify resources afterwards.

Volume Bundles: The widget can reappear and typically continues with previous settings because the underlying Shopify data remains.

Fixed / Multi Variant / Mix & Match: The bundle’s Shopify product is still present (archived). Depending on how your store is set up, you may need to review the bundle product in Shopify (for example, Status, Publishing, and your Theme template) after reinstalling.
